"Medical Transcription Made Easy" was developed by college level educator Mary Park-Youhanie, founder of Med Trans, Inc. When Med Trans, Inc. began hiring transcriptionists and then discovering that more training was needed, Ms. Park-Youhanaie decided to draw on her past as a college level educator and medical terminology training to develop a medical transcription program called "Medical Transcription Made Easy". Med Trans, Inc. has been in operation for more than a decade and does employ some of the top graduates of the Medical Transcription Made Easy Course.
The Program Includes:
- medical terminology
for the majority of medical specialties
- a review of English
skills
- chart formatting
- office procedure
notes
- letter diagramming
- pharmaceutical
terminology
- laboratory terminology
- audio files with
different specialty areas. Keys to the audio are also available.
- No previous medical experience is required.
PROGRAM OPTIONS
Two
options are available for purchasing the home study transcription course:
Option A - Text workbook with CD. This includes the text and digital voice files for dictation. If you choose this option you will need the digital software/foot pedal for your computer.
Option B- Text workbook with cassette tapes. With this option you need to purchase a cassette sized transcriber in order to play the tapes with a foot pedal and controls. We have these available also, call for details.The most popular option is Option A because it gives you a printed copy of the text workbook and your voice files are easy to manipulate from the CD. Also you are more likely to use the digital equipment when you are working as a transcriptionist rather than a cassette machine.
At the completion of the program you will be given a final exam and upon obtaining satisfactory results, receive a certificate of completion.

SOFTWARE
Sylvan Software offers a wide variety of medical transcription software including Sylvan's Complete Medical / Pharmaceutical Spell Check Dictionary. You do not have to have this for the course, but we highly recommend having it, as it will make the course easier for you to go through, as well as increase your accuracy on your final exam. Recommended Books
Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary is the only book required to start this course (or any other good Medical Dictionary). All of the other books are recommended before you complete the course and start working.
