PROBLEM INSTALLING OR UNINSTALLING SPELLER Internet Explorer must be set as the default browser for installation purposes. You can switch back to another browser after installation. Open Internet Explorer, click Tools, Internet Options, Programs, check the box to set Internet Explorer as the default browser. Download
versions - New installs only without a speller currently installed: Download
the speller install file to a folder on your C: drive. Your order number, product
ID and password will only work with the program you purchased. Example: If you
purchased version 2.3, scroll to the bottom of the page link below to locate your
product. Do Not Save The File To Your Windows Desktop Screen. For Help in downloading

Windows 98, 2000, XP Home users: Locate the folder where you downloaded
the speller install file, right click, Properties, Unblock file. Double click
and follow screen prompts to install.
Windows XP Professional, Vista 32 or 64, Windows 7: Locate the folder where
you downloaded the install file. Right click, Properties, Unblock file. Right
click, run as Administrator to install. If you do not have a Windows password
or do not know your Windows password, cancel, double click and install.
Vista and Windows 7 users need to disable the User Account Control in Control
Panel. Select User Account, User Account, disable user account control.
CD versions - New installs only without a speller currently installed:
Follow instructions below for your Windows operating system.
Windows 98, 2000, XP Home users: If installing from a CD, follow the screen
prompts to install or uninstall. If your computer is not set to autorun, go to
Start in Windows, My Computer, select your CD drive and browse or search the CD
for autorun.
Windows XP Professional, Vista 32 or 64, Windows 7 users:
If installing from a CD, browse CD for speller install file, right click and run
as Admin. If you do not have or do not know your Windows password, cancel, double
click and install. Vista users may need to disable the User Account Control in
Control Panel. Vista and Windows 7 users may also need to right click, select
the Compatibility tab and change the compatibility mode to Windows XP SP-3. Upgrading
from Demo version: Locate the speller install file on the CD or in the
folder on your C: drive. Use instructions for your operating system above and
install. Select "Upgrade," on the screen where your choices are Upgrade,
Repair or Remove. Key in your order #, product ID and password. Please note that
all information is case sensitive.
Word 97 through Word 2003 users, see Installation Instructions to select the speller
in Word. Installing
a Speller Upgrade: Follow instructions below for Uninstalling Speller before installing the new version. UNINSTALLING
SPELLER:
Word 97 through Word 2003 users, open Microsoft Word and deselect the speller.
Windows 98, 2000, XP Home users: Control Panel, Add/Remove programs. Windows
XP Pro, Vista 32 and 64 users: Locate speller install file on CD or on your
C: drive. Right click, run as Admin and uninstall. If you do not have or do not
know your Windows password, cancel, double click and uninstall.
Word 2007 users: Uninstall as above for your operating system.
If
you received a CD-Rom or a Download, the manual appears on the screen twice when
you install. Once you have installed the Speller you can find the manual on your
hard drive in the following locations: Word 97 through Word 2003 users - C:\Program
Files\Sylvan\MedPharm\MpReadMe. Word 2007 users can locate the manual at C:\Program
Files\Sylvan\MedPharm2007\MPReadme.txt
WordPerfect users may locate the Manual on the CD.
Word 98 thru Word 2003: Open Word, on the toolbar click Tools, Options, Spelling, and select Medical from the Speller Type drop down list on the right. Click Ok. You may need to close Word (not Windows) and start Word again to get the speller into memory the first time only. Word 2007: Open Word. Click the Office button at the top left corner of Word. Select Word Options, Trust Center. On the left sidebar select Trusted Locations. Add new, browse to the following folder and select: c:\Program Files\Sylvan\MedPharm2007. Ok, Ok.
NO MEDICAL OPTION AVAILABLE IN MS WORD Close virus software and reinstall spell checker.
Uninstall WordPerfect. Follow the green addendum instruction sheet that you received with the software.
Follow
instructions in the written manual to "chain" your speller in WordPerfect.
COULD NOT CONNECT TO SYLVAN INTERNET AUTHORIZATION SERVER. CHECK YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION (CODE 35) ERROR MESSAGE. Disable
or lower virus software settings. If using Norton Antivirus, move Sylvan files
to the safe to transfer list. Problem: When trying to upgrade your program from the Demo version to the purchased version, you get the above error message when trying to run the Complete Medical/Pharmaceutical spell checker. Solution:
Do not attempt to run the program. It has expired. Run the file you originally
downloaded from the Sylvan Software website, i.e. Sylspell19.exe. Select Upgrade
on the screen and enter your "case sensitive" password information from
the CD jewel case or email. Vista users may need to disable the User Account Control in Control Panel. Vista 64 users may need to right click the speller install file, Compatibility and change compatibility mode.

COMPUTER ASSOCIATES ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE IS REPORTING A PROBLEM OR DISABLING THE SPELLER Computer Associates antivirus software including CA Trust, Roadrunner, Antivirus 2009 and any other CA antivirus software is deleting or disabling Sylvan's Complete Medical/Pharmaceutical spell checker program files that are necessary to run the spell checker. They may also be falsely reporting that the Complete Medical/Pharmaceutical spell checker contains a virus or a Trojan. You may see an error message that sp2kw.dll is not a valid spell checking dll file. Computer Associates is asking for customers experiencing this problem to contact them directly at 800-225-5224, press option 1. If Computer Associates is not able to resolve this problem, Sylvan Software recommends that you download another antivirus software program. Disable your Internet connection. Uninstall your CA antivirus software, then install another antivirus software program. Enable or reconnect to the Internet. You
may also need to "Repair" the Complete Medical/Pharmaceutical spell
checker. Double click the sylspell__.exe file or MP__2007.exe file that you downloaded,
where the underscore is your version number. If you cannot locate the file, you
may download again, by clicking the Download link at the top of this page. If
you have a CD ROM, reinstall the Complete Medical/Pharmaceutical spell checker
and select "Repair." Be sure to download the version that you purchased.
