PROBLEM INSTALLING OR UNINSTALLING SPELLER

Delete the old install file if you have a Download program. The name of the file to delete is: Sylspell23.exe or Sylspell23_2007.exe. If you have a CD, do not install from the CD. The latest install program is available below.

Download the latest install for your program to a folder on your C: drive. Do Not Save To Your Windows Desktop. See Downloading 101 for complete instructions on downloading a file.

Locate the folder where you downloaded the above file. Double click the file. Depending on whether you are installing a new program, uninstalling an installed program or a Demo, select Remove. Do not use Control Panel if you have a program that was installed prior to 9/17/07.

I DIDN'T RECEIVE A MANUAL

If you received a CD-Rom or a Download, the manual appears on the screen when you install. Once you have installed the Speller you can find the manual on your hard drive in the following location: C:\Program Files\Sylvan\MedPharm\MpReadMe.txt.

If you received a floppy, the manual is located on the disk in the HelpWP6W.txt file.

INSTALLED SPELLER IN WORD, BUT MEDICAL TERMS ARE UNDERLINED

Follow instructions in written manual for selecting the Medical option under Tools, Options, Spelling. You may need to close Word (not Windows) and start Word again to get the speller into memory the first time only.

NO MEDICAL OPTION AVAILABLE IN MS WORD

Close virus software and reinstall spell checker.

LSM ERROR IN COREL WORDPERFECT 9.0 or 10.0

Uninstall WordPerfect. Follow the green addendum instruction sheet that you received with the software.

INSTALLED SPELLER IN WORDPERFECT, BUT MEDICAL TERMS ARE UNDERLINED

Follow instructions in the written manual to "chain" your speller in WordPerfect.

COULD NOT CONNECT TO SYLVAN INTERNET AUTHORIZATION SERVER.  CHECK YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION (CODE 35) ERROR MESSAGE.

Disable or lower firewall settings.  You may have more than one firewall.  Windows operating systems include firewalls.  Virus software includes firewalls. 

Disable or lower virus software settings.  If using Norton Antivirus, move Sylvan  files to the safe to transfer list.   If you still receive the above error message, try each of the following until you are able to authorize the Speller:   Remove port 80 from the monitor list, disable firewall, disable Norton Internet Security and Personal firewall.  The Speller needs about 30 seconds to authorize.  After authorization, reset your firewall and virus software settings for security.

"PROGRAM CANNOT CONTINUE" error message

Problem: When trying to upgrade your program from the Demo version to the purchased version, you get the above error message when trying to run the Complete Medical/Pharmaceutical spell checker.

Solution: Do not attempt to run the program. It has expired. Run the file you originally downloaded from the Sylvan Software website, i.e. Sylspell19.exe. Select Upgrade on the screen and enter your "case sensitive" password information from the CD jewel case or email.
